Men's Cricket

Eastlake Cricket Club has a proud history of fielding a full complement of teams across all ACT Premier Cricket competitions.

 

In season 2025/26, this includes sides in first grade to fifth grade.

Men's cricket leaders for season 2025/26:

Men's main training sessions are held at Deakin Oval for all grades on Thursday from 5.30pm.

We are always looking for new players and players with all levels of experience are welcome.

Women's Cricket

Eastlake Cricket Club has fielded a team in the senior women's competition since 2002 and the team is one of the most successful in the history of women's cricket in the ACT.

More recently, the team won both the Lynne O'Meara Cup and Glenda Hall Shield in season 2023/24 and went back-to-back, winning the Glenda Hall Shield again in 2024/25
 
In the 2025/26 season, the club's women's team is led by Claire Murray as Captain, Jason Yip and SJ Moore as co-coaches and Marissa Eldridge as Women's Coordinator.
 
The Eastlake women's 2nd-grade team plays on Saturdays, with most home matches played at Forestry Oval in Yarralumla. Training sessions occur weekly on Wednesday nights at Kingston Oval.

Junior Cricket

Eastlake offers a wide range of junior cricket options – from the Blasters program through to the Stage 1 to Stage 3 open (mixed) and girls competitions and colts (mixed).

 

Junior players have the option of trialling for a graded (Division 1) team in the open competition or playing in the ungraded competitions in each age group. In our ungraded teams, the club supports and encourages junior players to nominate friends they want to play with, in forming teams for the season.

Eastlake usually conducts its graded/Division 1 trials in early September. This allows plenty of time to practice and gel, in time for an October start to the season.

​

We accept players throughout the season, although early registration is always recommended.

​

Cricket ACT Junior Cricket 2024/25 season dates:

  • Fridays – 11 October 2024
  • Weekends – 12 & 13 October 2024
  • Wednesdays – Mid-October 2024
  • Colts T20s – Mid-October 2024​
  • BLASTERS – starts Friday 27 October 2024

Recent Juniors Record

Eastlake has developed into a strong junior club, both on and off the field, due to a dedicated community of volunteers who aim to develop both player skills and cricketing ability, while also creating an encouraging and inclusive environment for junior cricketers to thrive. Recent highlights include:

  • 2016/17: Eastlake finished second in the ACT Junior Club Championship.
  • 2017/18: For the first time in the club’s history, Eastlake won The Speaker's Shield for Champion Junior Club in ACT Junior Cricket.
  • 2018/19: Eastlake won a record four premierships in the junior competition.
  • 2019/20: Eastlake won premierships in Under 18 Div 2 T20, Under 15 Div 2 T20 and Under 11 Division 1. Ethan Golder from the Under 11 Div 1 side won ACT junior cricketer of the year and Eastlake also won several ACT cricketer-of-the-week awards.
  • 2020/21: In a COVID-interrupted season, we saw the majority of cricket take place.
  • 2021/22: Another season where COVID disrupted the season, but again, we were able to provide cricket in a safe manner for the kids to enjoy and we saw significant growth from Blasters through the stages.
  • 2022/23: Eastlake celebrated 100 years of cricket in the ACT as a foundational club. This was also when a formal merger between the junior and senior clubs took place, to provide a lifelong pathway for boys and girls through to adults in the grade and women's competitions. A number of teams made the finals and the Eastlake Eagles won the competition.

Masters Cricket

Masters Cricket in the ACT and Australia is experiencing tremendous growth in participation. One of our Eastlake Masters team are the current ACT Champions and we continue to expand our playing group.

 

Our aim is to enjoy the game we love while making new friends and competing to the best of our abilities.

We are nominating one of the largest playing groups in the ACT in 2025/26 with 3 teams in the new Over 40's Premier competition along with a team in the Over 55's Classic competition.

 

Come and join us, we always want to meet you enthusiastic proponents of this great game, regardless of experience!
