Eastlake women go back-to-back

The Eastlake women’s cricket team has made it two consecutive wins in the Glenda Hall Shield, for the best women’s T20 team in the Australian Capital Territory.

After winning last season’s final against Western District by 38 runs, Eastlake faced off against Ginninderra in the 2024/25 T20 season decider, which was held at Manuka Oval on 10 February.

Ginninderra won the toss and batted first, but only 8.1 overs of play were possible because of rain and storms.

When play stopped, Eastlake had Ginninderra at 5/44, with Georgia Bye the pick of the bowlers, taking 3/8.

After the weather prevented any further play, Eastlake was declared the winner because it finished higher on the table (second) than Ginninderra (fourth) in the T20 competition.

Congratulations to the members of the Eastlake team on another outstanding win!
